How to Dress for Fall in San Diego.

 Photography by Jenna Puterbaugh

Dress: Francesca's c/o (sold out, similar at ASOS)
Chambray Top: Banana Republic
Rings: Gorjana
Bracelet: Gorjana
Booties: Sole Society
Scarf: ASOS
Purse: Forever 21

If you live in California, you understand the struggle of trying to dress seasonally appropriate during the early fall months...when its still 79 degrees outside. I know, I know, we shouldn't complain that we have perfect weather all year long, but it really is unfortunate when you want to wear boots and scarfs and you're sweating!

Here's the trick: let your legs breathe. I know, sounds strange. Today's outfit is a perfect example of this. I paired my favorite semi-summery striped Francesca's dress with a dark chambray shirt (unbuttoned) to add a layer and make this dress look more fall appropriate. I wore my new Sole Society booties and added a cute burnt orange scarf to the mix to spice up the look with some fall festive colors and added a few shiny touches of gold in my necklace, rings and bracelet.

PS I have to share my obsession with Francesca's lately, not only do they have adorable clothing & accessories at a really good price, they have the best customer service! They have started this new initiative to giveback to their best customers & fran fans, its called #FranLove! They send FREE Francesca's items to customers who engage with them on social media telling them about how much they love their brand! How awesome is that! This dress is actually a #franlove gift! Next time you're rocking any Francesca's top, necklace, or dress make sure you post a photo and hashtag #FranLove. You never know, you might just get a little something at your door step!

Dress Like a Lady.

Photography by Jenna Puterbaugh

Dress: Shabby Apple c/o
Watch: Michael Kors
Sunnies: ASOS

This dress is so perfect for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner (I know, crazy to think its time to start planning for those!), or really for any dressier, more elegant occasion! To be honest, I was a little nervous about how this dress from Shabby Apple was going to look on me. The length is a little longer than what I'm used to wearing and, seeing that I don't have long legs, I was a little concerned the dress would just make me look a little frumpy and short. To my surprise, the dress fit me really well (especially when worn correctly -- the last image at the bottom is of my reaction when I realized I had the dress on BACKWARDS (insert laughing/crying emoji here)! The waistline on this dress fits me like a glove! The fabric is really cozy and soft, which is always a plus in my book.

If you have the short legged problem like me (or if you're just a greedy long-legged beauty and want to make your Victoria Secret legs look even longer) I have a secret for ya! When you wear longer dresses like this one, DONT WEAR ANKLE STRAP HEELS! You want to go for a pump that doesn't have anything around the ankle so the eye doesn't break up the leg (sounds painful, I know, but just keep reading). With a pointed pump on, the eye just sees one continuous leg, allowing the top of your foot to trick the eye into thinking its an elongated part of the leg (is this sounding weird or is it just me?). Im serious, try it sometime. I promise ankle-free (not an official term... I don't think haha) heels will make your legs look longer when you're wearing long skirts or dresses.

PS I've been loving this deep blue on me recently, I've decided its my color ;-) I think the contrast of the dark color with my light hair just does something special; all the blonde ladies out there, do yourself a favor and pick up something royal blue this fall, like maybe this dress!

Leave me comments or email me! I love reading them :)

(Right when I realized we had taken a bunch of shots with the dress on backwards....!)
