4 Step Fall Outfit Strategy

Photography by Jenna Puterbaugh

Top: Francesca's c/o (also love this one from Nordstrom)
Necklace: Francesca's (obsessed with this one from Baublebar!)
Jeans: J Brand (most amazing stretch jeans ever)
Boots: Nordstrom
Purse: ChloƩ

So yes, I love Fall for the scarves and pumpkin spice lattes and all the other reasons a blogger is supposed to say she likes Fall ha, but I also like the Fall season because I can finally implement my fool proof 4 step Fall outfit strategy:

1. Colorful/solid blouse
+
2. Jeans/black pants/leggings (aka yoga pants, hollaaa)
+
3. Statement necklace/scarf
+
4. BOOTS!!
+
BONUS ROUND:
A layered sweater or structured blazer!

= Fashionista ready to overcome the world!
(A bit much, but you get the point;)

Honestly, its so simple! Just make sure you don't pair a busy pattern top with a crazy bold statement necklace. If you go bold with the necklace, go with a solid (color allowed, see below) or textured blouse and vice versa. I mean come on guys, who said bright colors couldn't be in the Fall family?! I love this bright fuchsia-rasberry top, especially when paired with a contrast color like that blueberry (can anyone tell that Im hungry ;-) colored necklace!

Sometimes you just want to wear all black...

 Photography by Zach Andrews

Top: Head over to Studio 1220 to shop this top, **dont forget to leave #sharstyle in the comment box at checkout!** (love this one too)
Skirt: ASOS
Heels: Steve Madden (for more height, check out this platform version)
Cuff: Tory Burch
Watch: Michael Kors
Handbag: Marc Jacobs

Do you ever have days where you just want to wear all black. Whether it's that time of the month or you just don't feel like getting creative with colors, black just simplifies life sometimes. This outfit is my go-to when I'm feeling lazy. It's simple, sassy, and (if you added a blazer or sweater) it is work appropriate ;-) I love this skater skirt for literally EVERYTHING. Girls nights, a day in the office, dinner dates with Tyler -- you name an event, I've probably worn this to it. It's just so effortless and easy because it looks good with everything and is super flattering on. This top is from one of my favorite boutiques, Studio 1220, and is to die for! I love necklines like this -- I don't have a clue what its technically called, but it is just so feminine and shows off your pretty little shoulders so well :) The crochet detail adds the perfect bit of pattern to spice it up.

One last bit on these shoes: they are a staple. You can dress them up with this type of outfit or even pair them with a pair of rolled up boyfriend jeans and a black t-shirt. The heel height isn't too big, but because the straps are so small, they make your legs look so dainty and long. I will link them below if you want to peruse them online!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Day to Night in a Little Black Dress

From Day...

Sandals: Florence
Bracelet: Novica
Ring: ASOS

When you're a working woman, time is everything. When you can purchase one dress and wear it two ways in the same day... now thats efficient! This dress is from Nasty Gal -- though I hate the name of their store, I LOVE their clothes. They are really affordable and fit true to size (which is good when you're shopping online). This dress is the perfect daytime get up for running errands, grabbing lunch with girlfriends, or even shopping (theres nothing worse that having 12 layers to put back on in the changing room when you're out shopping, stick with one to slip on and off ;-) For this daytime look I just paired it with my favorite ankle strap sandals from Florence and some chunky boho type beaded bracelets.

To Night...

Dress: Nasty Gal (sold out, similar here)
Ring: ASOS
 Handbag: Chloe

To switch gears into nighttime I just added a red faux leather jacket and some combat heels to the mix. I know, I have sunglasses on for the nighttime version... slight over sight when shooting this look ha.

Printed Shift Dress

Photography by Jenna Puterbaugh

Dress: Francesca's c/o
Heels: Zara
Handbag: Francesca's c/o
Sunnies: ASOS
Watch: Michael Kors

I love love love shift dresses... mix a fun, colorful pattern in there and I'm sold! Shift dresses are often hated on because they are so bulky and not form fitting. I usually pair heels with shift dresses because it will elongate your legs (and torso). If you wear them with a flat or low heeled bootie you cut your legs short and it will probably look unflattering (unless you're one of those blessed women with Victoria's Secret model legs ;) A pop of color in the handbag and heels and you're done! This dress is another easy peasy one because the neckline has that crazy beading on it, no need to accessorize, just throw on and go!
